Dancing Crow, Lake County
Tony Cartlidge’s journey in the wine industry began in 1979 when he teamed up with Glenn Browne to form the Cartlidge & Browne winery. In 2004 Tony started buying Dancing Crow Vineyard grapes in order to produce a single vineyard designate wine under the Cartlidge & Browne Label. The resulting wine was very well received. In 2011, Tony sold Cartlidge & Browne, and 2 years later he and his family were able to purchase the Dancing Crow Vineyard property. The acquisition of 36 acres of Lake County vineyard is the fulfillment of Tony’s dream to bring his family together in a new and exciting wine endeavor. The Sauvignon Blanc all comes from Big Valley District AVA and is grown in a unique “diablo” coal clay soil gown at 1400 ft elevation near the base of Mount Konocti on the western shore of Clear Lake. The Cabernet is grown in a dark red volcanic soil between 2000 - 2500 ft elevation in the Red HIlls AVA.
